Camera!

Yesterday was, well, quite an interesting day. Let's just say I now owe someone a computer mouse..(I accidently broke theirs)...and I am finally done writing my short story. I came home yesterday to find on my kitchen table nothing other than..a Camera! My dad walked into the room and smiled. He had surprised me with a new camera that I have been waiting for for ages!! It was raining outside, so as soon as the rain stopped, I rushed outside to try it out..... Here's some floral shots from my new Camera. :)

Till later then!!!
Ooo...P.S...Here is my "Steve Perry Video of the Week" Isn't his hair lovely??

Le Printemps Est Ici (Spring is Here)

Spring, has finally arrived! Hopefully, no more shovelling snow, no more snowboots or large jackets, only trickles of rain and blossoming flowers.

Today was a day where you would look outside at the rain gently falling on the newly grown flowers, and think "Spring is Here" After the rain subsided I ventured outside to capture the essance of spring flowers.

This is not going to be a long entry I must say, for Deadliest Catch is starting soon, and I must walk to the store to get some goodies for when I watch :)
I am also hoping to order my gift for my good friend Fizz. I have something awesome in mind for her, and I am super excited to order it!
Well, for the rest of you, enjoy the beginning of spring!
Till next time...

A Sense of Belonging

Rhode Island. For such a small state it has a large place in my heart. Ever since I left I have been longing to return. So, I'd thought I would share with you my home away from home, and some of the memories I have brought back with me from this beautiful state.

One of my most fondest memories of R.I was the historic Newport Mansions. These homes were gigantic!! They were beautifully landscaped and wonderfully decorated.

This pink house above is called "The Elms" I took a tour, and inside was a large marble staircase, and hanging crystal chandaliers. The rooms were decorated with French influence, and the original furniture was well preserved. My sister and I enjoyed wandering away from the tour group inside the tiny passageways between the rooms, until we got lost...

Then, came the best part of the trip: Meeting the crew of the F/V Northwestern. When I found the crew was coming close enough I could drive to meet them, I could never have passed up the opportunity!

After autographs, hugs, pictures, and Edgar making fun of me for my nervousness, I stood in awe as I watched the crew carry on signing autographs. Matt was nice enough to pose for a few pictures for me, and Edgar remarked "You're still here?". It was an amazing day overall

The last stop on our trip was Warwick. After getting lost in a very rundown looking part of town, we arrived tired at a local hot dog place, Cosmics. Needless to say the food was AMAZING! We quickly befriended the owners, and went there the next day for....free TACO PIZZA! Yum!

Then, it was over the bridge and goodbye Rhode Island. Somehow, I never felt I left. Rhode Island left a part of itself inside me, and there is no doubt I will return in the near future. Until next time, home away from home!

Till next time....

Spring Adventures

Today my two good friends and I decided to go on an Adventure. The shops in historic Niagara on the Lake were now open, and the weather was beautiful. We packed her car and off we went!

We arrived at the park looking over at Fort Niagara. We were surprised to see that we still had ice and snow on the ground!! Yet, the weather was still warm and sunny.
Fort Niagara looks spectacular this time of year.

As we continued on our walk, I started snapping random images of the shoreline and the walkway. It was a very beautiful day here, and everyone was out enjoying it because the last few days have been cold!

After our walk along the shoreline, we continued our adventure.

We ended up in the Falls. After a quick trip to Wendy's for burgers, and New York Fries, we ended our Adventure with chocolate bars at the Avondale. It was quite the day!

Till next time!...

A First for Everything

Well, the time has come: Brooke now has a blog. I've never really been one for blogging, but thanks to my good friend Fizz, (who's blog, Faraway Places, is amazing) I am now joining the blogging community.
I guess I should start off by introducing a few of my favourite things. Steve Perry: 80s Rock Legend and ex singer of the band Journey. He has an amazing voice and has been my favourite singer for a while now. His music inspires me and is helping me get through any problems I may encounter.
Deadliest Catch: My all-time favourite TV show. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend watching it. It chronicles the lives of Alaskan Crab fishermen. Sounds boring? It is far from it. The men in the show are very down to earth, and very fun to watch! It gets addicting, so you've been warned!
Travelling & Photography: I have been many places, and what better way to capture the places I've been with pictures! The picture above I took while I was in NYC, and it is the Chrysler Building. My favourite location so far has been Rhode Island. It is a beautiful state, with beautiful scenery and gorgeous landscapes. Also, it was there where I got to meet a few of my favourite people: Edgar and Norm Hansen, Matt Bradley, and Jake Anderson ( from Deadliest Catch) It was quite a trip.

Well, there you have it. My first ever blog entry. More to come soon!
Till next time!
